Acting on AIDS was started back in 1999 at Seattle Pacific University when 3 students heard a calling to raise awareness around the world to the deadliest disease in the history of humankind. These three students started a group called Acting on AIDS to raise awareness on their campus and in their area.

Acting on AIDS has now grown to be a national organization with chapters all around the nation. These groups continue the mission of the original 3.

The chapter at Roberts Wesleyan College was started officially in 2004 by 2 students after attending a conference and learning about the organization. These students suddenly felt the same calling as the 3 in Seattle. Ever since, Roberts' Acting on AIDS chapter has participated in many events such as the Do You See Orange Campaign, Lives Are At Stake, the Global Night Commute and many others. Roberts has brought in speakers such as Steve Haas, the Vice President of Church Relations at World Vision.
